Exclusive write up by nasiru ida umar !Wednesday special !

What an amazingly sweet and intelligent right up by my brother nasiru ida umar !

OLD MEN DECLARE WAR BUT ITS THE YOUTHS
WHO MUST FIGHT AND DIE! The infantile
agitations for the establishment of the sovereign
state of Biafra by some unscrupulous urchins
goaded by megalomaniac political elites from the
south east requires outright collective
condemnation by right thinking Nigerians. I
remain amazed at the level of foolishness
exhibited by these so called Biafrans who are
bent on unbundling the contraption called Nigeria.
The elites who are supposed to promote national
unity by placing premium on national cohesion
have allowed their saner minds to give way for
base impulses. Their individual self interest
certainly beclouds their sense of living in a
peaceful environment. I call on all youths involved
in this senseless movement to reason. The blood
of a youth should not be the ultimate price to
pay! lets give reason a chance and send the
devils from Hades back to Hades. Though a
colonial contraption, Nigeria holds the key to our
collective aspirations... A word is enough for the
wise! By Umar Nasir Ida (Corps member serving in Ekiti state of Nigeria).

Barrett had months back offered to fight alongside former Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies against Rooney and superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Major Reasons Why Ibrahim Lamorde Was Removed as EFCC Chairman

EFCC-boss-Lamorde

The shocking sack of the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde according to some insiders was long overdue making reference to the following reasons.

Yesterday, Monday, November 9, the presidency announced the removal of former EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde.

A statement from Preidential aide, Femi Adesina said, “Mr. Magu, who is an Assistant Commissioner of Police, is to take over from Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, who is proceeding on terminal leave ahead of the formal expiration of his tenure in February, next year.”

According to The Nation, a source familiar with the matter said the EFCC chairman was removed following some allegations against him and security report.

The reasons include:

1. Allegations of mismanagement of N1.3tr recovered from looters

The Senate is looking into alleged mismanagement of N1.3trillion recovered by the anti-graft agency. The Presidency was uncomfortable with some disclosures by the petitioner, George Uboh.

While the government does not want to tamper with the ongoing probe by the Senate, it believes it is untidy to allow the EFCC chairman to be rubbished. It is better for Lamorde to step aside.

2. Fraternity with Jonathan’s associates

Another factor was a security report on his alleged relationship with some former officials of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

It was gathered that the Presidency was angry that the EFCC did not take action on former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke until the National Crimes Agency in the United Kingdom invited her for questioning.

The government believed there were sufficient grounds to prevent Diezani from travelling to the UK.

3. Tardiness in prosecuting Godswill Akpabio

It was also learnt that the EFCC bid its time in managing the investigation of former Akwa Ibom Governor, Godswill Akpabio when sister agencies raised

loot is too huge for us to handle - World Bank

The World Bank has asked for more time to provide a detailed report on the loot of former military dictator, Sani Abacha, saying the loot is too huge for it to handle. The World Bank said this in response to a request by civil society group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) asking for a comprehensive document detailing all the loots of the former military dictator which is estimated at $11.3 billion and stashed in foreign banks.

“In response to your request, we would like to inform you that we are still considering your request and we will need additional time because the money involved is too huge for us to handle.” World bank says
The World Bank added that although it takes just 20 working days to respond to such requests, under special cases, it could take longer time.

N1trillion Saga: Confusion As FG Orders EFCC To Probe Sitting Chairman, Lamorde

EFCC-Acting-Chairman-Mr-Ibrahim-Lamorde-360x270

The Federal Ministry of Justice has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to commence investigation into the allegation that the agency’s chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde, diverted about N1 trillion proceeds of corruption recovered by the anti-graft agency.

The request follows a petition dated September 18, 2015, sent to the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr. Abdullahi Yola.

The petition was filed by a security expert and Chief Executive Officer of a security firm, Panic Alert Security Systems (PASS), George Uboh.

Uboh sent a reminder letter dated September 28, to Yola, threatening to sue the ministry, if he failed to respond to his petition within seven days.

In the petition, Uboh asked the Justice Ministry, “through which EFCC derives its power to immediately rescind the fiat to prosecute criminal suspects from EFCC”.

He also sought a “fiat for the prosecution of EFCC’s past and present leadership and their known and unknown co-conspirators via the 22-page preliminary criminal charges the undersigned has prepared.”

The ministry’s letter, signed by the Director, Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Muhammad Diri, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, is dated October 8, 2015.

The letter made available to reporters in Abuja yesterday, reads: “I refer to your letter dated September 28, 2015, in respect of the above mentioned subject matter.

“I am directed to inform you that your petition has been sent to the EFCC for their response to the allegation contained therein.

“The commission has been directed by the Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary to forward the result of its investigation as soon as it is completed.

“Accept please, the assurances of the highest regards of the Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary.”

It remains to be seen how the EFCC will successfully launch an investigate on its own head.

Lamorde, still presides over commission activities, and routinely receives foreign and local agencies who pay courtesy visits.

Uboh has, however, argued that “pursuant to the Civil Service Rules, Ibrahim Lamorde must step aside during the pendency of the investigation by the commission”.

He had alleged that Lamorde diverted among others, the loot recovered from a former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha and an ex-Inspector-General of Police Tafa Balogun.

15-year old boy arrested in Northern Ireland in connection with cyber attack

UK internet service provider TalkTalk was recently hacked leaving millions of customers at risk. The firm’s websites have been hacked at least three times in the past year, allowing criminals to capture names, email addresses, account numbers and bank details. A boy of 15 has been arrested on suspicion of taking part in the cyber-attack on TalkTalk.

The teenager was taken into custody after police raided his family home in Northern Ireland. A forensic team continued to comb the boy’s house for clues last night after obtaining a search warrant hours earlier.

‘We know this has been a worrying time for customers and we are grateful for the swift response and hard work of the police. We will continue to assist in the ongoing investigation.’ Criminals posing as TalkTalk technicians have been hijacking customers’ computers, stealing cash and even threatening rape. The scammers ask victims to allow remote access to their computer and then offer to pay compensation for the disruption into their bank account. Stage two involves claiming they have overpaid the compensation and asking for the money back, which requires the victims to type in bank details and make an electronic transfer.

In reality, no money is put into the customer’s account. If people refuse to pay up, the hackers are often abusive and lock them out of their computer unless they pay a ransom.

Computer experts are also carefully examining the boy’s PC and other gadgets for links to the data breach. A spokesman for the technology giant said: ‘TalkTalk can confirm that we have been informed by the Metropolitan Police of the arrest of a suspect in connection with the cyber-attack on our website on October 21

Why Wike’s sack may affect Amaechi’s ministerial confirmation

The nullification of the election of Governor Nyesom Wike, is expected to have several ripple effects, one of which is the ministerial confirmation of Rotimi Amaechi.

During his screening at the Senate last week, Amaechi, a former Rivers governor, was not questioned by the Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The PDP Senators had refused to question him until the reports by the Committee on Ethics Privileges and Public Petitions, on the petitions submitted against Amaech, was ready.

With the screening and confirmation of the remaining ministerial nominees, scheduled to continue today, Tuesday, October 27, PDP senators, feeling aggrieved over the unfavourable tribunal rulings in Rivers and Akwa Ibom state, are expected to be hostile.

PDP senators are going to try and scuttle the confirmation of Amaechi as minister, for a number of reasons.

The senators of the opposition party are still nursing the grudge of Amaechi’s defection to the APC in 2014, and the recent tribunal rulings have only made the wound deeper.

The lawmakers are also said to be perturbed that if Amaechi is confirmed as minister, he would become too powerful and much more influential than he is at present.

With a rerun election seeming likely in Rivers state, the senators believe that Amaechi’s confirmation would directly have an effect on the polls.

Dogara reveals how God used Fayose to make him Speaker
Dogara, Fayose, Ortom in Jerusalem

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Sunday, in Jerusalem, the capital city of Israel, publicly revealed how God used the Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, to win the battle associated with his election as Speaker.

Giving his testimony at a special pilgrimage programme: “A day with Jesus for Nigeria in Israel,” organised by the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), held at the International Conference
Centre (ICC), Jerusalem, Honourable Dogara, who emphasised the importance of prayers in the affairs of a nation and individuals, said he had lost hope of becoming the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as many forces were against him until God himself intervened.

“Concerning the race for speakership race, it was almost the same story to how I won the election to the House. Some of our members and the powers that be said they did not want a fundamentalist Christian, that I am a fanatic.

“At a point, I decided to leave everything to God, having realized that human efforts were not working, even my supporters had resolved to accept the deputy speakership offer, which I declined.

“In the process, I think a few days, thereafter, that I ran into my brother, the governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, for the very first time. When I got to him, I did not know I was coming to meet a prophet,

“As he started the prayers, I said wow! I have never seen or heard a politician pray in this version before, but I thank God that those prayers really worked for me.”

The Speaker said he was not surprised at what Fayose had become, adding that his experience had turned him to a firebrand as testified by Fayose himself

“Come and see the words coming out of Fayose’s mouth. He mentioned my name, saying ‘I pronounce you the Speaker of House of Representatives’, and he said the God who made his own possible, would

make my own possible.”

He urged Nigerian leaders to seek the face of God in the ruling of the country and not lean on their wisdom or knowledge alone, saying only then, the change all were clamouring for would come.

Fayose and other governors present, including the Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom; Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong had testified to how God, through prayers, changed their lives for better.
