Curtis James Jackson III, commonly known as rapper 50 Cent, has recently announced his plans of feeding one billion children in Africa by the end of 2016. This will be a part of his “Individual Social Responsibility” project.

Having had a very challenging upbringing himself “fiddy” hopes to give back to the less fortunate, deprived children of the world. He is said to have an approximate net worth of $260 million. 50 has already donated large sums of money to various charities and has been involved with philanthropic activities since 2011.

Street King Energy Drink

50 started the African project by assisting with the launch of Street King (SK) energy drink in collaboration with Pure Growth Partners. Every time someone buys a bottle of Street King a portion of the profit goes towards feeding a less fortunate child in Africa. Now known as the SK Energy Shot, the drink was ranked the number one energy drink product of the year in both 2013 and 2014. The successful company has already provided millions of meals to children living in Africa.

The “Feeding One Billion Children In Africa” project is definitely on the right track and many other companies are joining this amazing social project.

A Little Background Info On 50 Cent

50 definitely lived a challenging life before being able to be in such a generous position. His mother gave birth to him when she was 15, and then died when he was only 8. 50 went on to live with his grandparents and eventually got into drugs. After all of this hardship, and after his start to rising fame, in 2000, 50 was shot 9 times at close range while getting into his car. Somehow he survived and came out stronger than ever.

50’s life did not start to change until he met Dr. Dre and Eminem, it was from those connections that he really rose above his tough upbringing and made a name for himself. Over the course of 50’s career, he has sold over 30 million albums and has won several awards, including a Grammy Award, 13 Billboard Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards and 4 BET Awards.

It is so great to see that 50 Cent has used his success to give back in such an amazing way. It would be amazing to see more celebrities following in his footsteps! We can all do our part to make the world a better place.
